Sublingual Immunotherapy (SLIT) - Allergy Treatment

For much of her childhood years, my girl has been plagued by allergies triggered mainly by dustmites and cockroach droppings. We've bought anti-dustmite beddings, air-cleaners, put her on nasal sprays and seen ENT specialists...no books on shelves in her room. Saddest of all, for a girl, is not being able to hug her soft toys. From bears, to doggies..I've packed them all away.
But we finally found relief for her after a health article published more than 2 years ago.
From breathing thru her mouth and unable to smell, within a few months of the vaccine, she's so grateful as she was able to breath properly thru her nose and could smell again..after so many long years! It's been 2 years and recommended duration is 3 to 5 years. So, we'll get her checked at the end of the year.

Most studies on SLIT have focused on people with one type of allergy, such as grass or dust mite allergy. People with multiple allergies, such as to molds, pollens, pet dander and dust mite may not be good candidates for SLIT, given the large volume of different allergen extracts that would need to be taken.
